why do schools make so much money

As every educator knows, the last thing states should be doing is decreasing school funding. Yet, In29 states provided less school funding than in Education budgets in other states have, at best, barely recovered from pre-recession levels a decade monsy. As hard as it is to why do schools make so much money, the perception that funding makes little or no difference in student success persists. These are beliefs, says Bruce D. Baker, professor of education at Rutgers University in New Jersey, that are based on outdated and faulty research. Baker is mxke author of a new report from the Learning Policy Institute LPI that confirms what educators know to be true — students benefit from more school funding. Shaw and his wife concocted an elaborate rich person strategy to ensure their kids got into one of the best colleges in the country:. At best, it would allow them to choose whichever blue-chip school they preferred, making selecting a college as easy as ordering from a take-out menu. Rich people like to have their names on buildings or have the sway to get their kids into the best schools. A little more than half the list drops off. One of the reasons the Ivy League endowments are so large in the first place is because many of them have been unbelievable investors over the past years even though the 10 years numbers have come down on a relative basis. And I know many of these schools do wonderful things in terms of research and such with some of this money.

Why they make so much

But do they really need their endowments to be so large? Maybe do away with some of the exclusivity in acceptance rates? For Many Schools The Recession Never Ended

Last week Seattle Public School officials announced their proposed budget for The school board will review and likely approve it at its next meeting in early July. This is more money than most private schools receive in tuition. Seattle school administrators clearly have plenty of money, much of which goes into their own pockets in the form of high pay and Cadillac benefits, while working families and elderly couples struggle to pay their property taxes. The heavy property tax is regressive and falls disproportionately on the poor and people of color. In contrast, most of Seattle’s private schools receive less money and provide a better education to children.
